Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening, optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In a large skillet or pan over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the broccoli florets and a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté for 4-5 minutes or until the broccoli is tender-crisp. Remove the broccoli from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 2 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip them over.

Add Sauce and Broccoli: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp, stirring well to coat. Add the cooked broccoli back into the pan and toss everything together. If you want a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.

Finish and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed. Drizzle with the optional sesame oil for extra flavor. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired, over rice or noodles.
