Ingredients

1 lb white fish fillets (like tilapia or cod)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

6 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cabbage

1 ripe avocado, sliced

1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 lime, cut into wedges

Optional: hot sauce or your favorite salsa

Instructions

Prepare the Fish: Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut them into smaller strips, about 1-2 inches wide.

Set Up Breading Stations: In three separate bowls, set up your breading stations. In the first bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne, salt, and black pepper. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Bread the Fish: Dredge each fish strip in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess, then dip it into the egg, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure it sticks. Repeat until all fish strips are breaded.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes while you finish breading the fish.

Air Fry the Fish: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded fish strips in a single layer, ensuring they don't overlap. You may need to do this in batches. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray for added crispiness. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish are golden brown and cooked through.

Warm the Tortillas: While the fish is cooking, heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until warm and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: To assemble, place a few pieces of crispy fish on each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, sliced avocado, and chopped cilantro.

Serve and Enjoy: Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos, and drizzle with hot sauce or salsa if desired. Serve immediately with extra lime wedges on the side.
