Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup onion, finely chopped

1 cup bell pepper, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned)

1 large egg

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp paprika

2 tbsp olive oil

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup beef broth

2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, green beans, corn)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the meat mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.

Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into thick patties.

Brown the patties: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

Make the sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low. Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth, stirring until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Combine patties and veggies: Add the frozen mixed vegetables directly into the sauce, stirring to combine. Nestle the browned hamburger patties back into the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top of each patty.

Bake the dish: If using, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the patties. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through and the sauce is bubbling.

Garnish and serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or fresh bread to soak up the delicious sauce!
