¼ cup honey

1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

For Serving:

Fresh herbs (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish (9x13 inches) or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Prepare the Cornbread Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and melted butter, whisking until the mixture is smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. If desired, fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and the cooked chicken.

Bake the Cornbread: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Make the Honey Butter Glaze: While the cornbread is baking, prepare the honey butter glaze. In a small bowl, mix the softened unsalted butter, honey, and cinnamon (if using) until well combined and fluffy. Set aside.

Glaze the Tenders: Once the cornbread is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into tenders (about 2 inches wide). Brush the tops generously with the honey butter glaze while they are still warm.

Serve: Arrange the cornbread tenders on a serving platter, drizzle additional honey on top if desired, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Enjoy your deliciously sweet and buttery Baked Honey Butter Cornbread Tenders!
