1/3 cup melted coconut oil (or vegetable oil)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, applesauce, and melted coconut oil. Stir until well mixed.

Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the banana mixture and mix until combined.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, and then add the vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts if desired.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cool, cut into squares and enjoy your delicious Banana Bread Brownies!
