Ingredients

1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and ground black pepper. Whisk until well blended. Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator for maximum flavor.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking.

Cook the Shrimp: Remove the shrimp from the marinade (but don’t discard the marinade). Add the shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on one side, until they turn pink and slightly charred, then flip them over.

Add the Marinade: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet with the shrimp. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp beautifully.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve these sticky shrimp over a bed of rice or noodles to soak up the delicious sauce.
