Ingredients

For the Crust:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup powdered sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Filling:

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 cup corn syrup

3 large eggs

¼ cup bourbon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups pecan halves

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For Garnish:

Flaky sea salt (optional)

Extra caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal later.

Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, powdered sugar, melted butter, salt, and vanilla extract until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.

Prepare the Filling: In a separate large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Stir in the pecan halves until they are fully coated.

Combine and Bake: Pour the pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are golden brown.

Cool and Slice: Remove the bars from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, use the parchment overhang to lift the bars out of the pan. Cut them into squares or rectangles.

Serve: Drizzle with extra caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired. Enjoy these delicious bourbon caramel pecan pie bars with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage!
