Instructions

Prepare the Brownie Crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well combined.

        - Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture is smooth.

          - In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet mixture until fully combined.

            - Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9-inch pie pan or tart pan, spreading it evenly.

              - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool completely.

                Make the Chocolate Pudding Filling:

                  - In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.

                    - Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble (about 5-7 minutes).

                      - Remove from heat. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the egg yolks. Gradually add a small amount of the hot pudding mixture to the egg yolks, whisking continuously to temper the eggs.

                        - Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes while stirring constantly.

                          - Remove from heat, and stir in the butter and vanilla extract. Allow the pudding to cool slightly.

                            Assemble the Pie:

                              - Pour the warm chocolate pudding filling over the cooled brownie crust, spreading it evenly.

                                - Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.

                                  Serve:

                                    - Once chilled, top the pudding pie with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.

                                      - Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your luscious brownie-bottom chocolate pudding pie!
