Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt

3/4 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)

3 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes bubbly.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Once the yeast is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Knead the Dough: Mix until a dough forms, then transfer it to a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Set aside.

Shape the Breadsticks: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about 10x14 inches) on a floured surface.

Add Toppings: Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the surface of the dough. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan generously over the top.

Cut and Shape: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into strips (about 1-2 inches wide). Twist each strip slightly, then arrange them on a greased baking sheet.

Second Rise: Cover the breadsticks with a cloth and let them rest for another 20-30 minutes, allowing them to puff up slightly.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Bake: Bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
