Ingredients

6 slices of white bread (preferably day-old)

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon maple extract (optional)

2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling:

In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. Set aside.

      Roll the Bread:

Take each slice of bread and gently roll it out with a rolling pin until flattened. This makes it easier to roll up later.

          Spread the Filling:

Evenly spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on each flattened slice of bread, leaving a small border around the edges.

              Roll the Bread:

Starting from one end, carefully roll up the sliced bread tightly into a log shape. Repeat this with all the slices.

                  Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:

In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll each bread log in the mixture until completely coated. Set aside.

                      Prepare the Egg Mixture:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and maple extract until well blended.

                          Cook the Roll-Ups:

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, dip each cinnamon roll-up in the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Place in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Add more butter as needed for cooking the remaining roll-ups.

                              Serve:

Once cooked, remove from the skillet and place on a serving plate. Drizzle with maple syrup before serving. Enjoy the delightful combination of cream cheese, cinnamon sugar, and buttery goodness!
