Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup chocolate chips (blue for Cookie Monster effect, if available)

1 cup blue buttercream frosting

1 cup cookies, crushed (preferably chocolate chip)

Blue sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a cupcake tin with liners.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips. If using blue chocolate chips, this will enhance the Cookie Monster look.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack.

Once cooled, crumble the cupcakes into small pieces in a separate bowl.

In your serving jars, create layers starting with a layer of crumbled cake at the bottom, followed by a layer of crushed cookies, a dollop of blue buttercream frosting, and another layer of crumbled cake. Repeat the layering until the jar is filled.

Top off with a final layer of blue buttercream and sprinkle with blue sprinkles for extra Cookie Monster flair.

Close with lids or cover with plastic wrap for a fun presentation.
