1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

8 ounces fettuccine pasta (optional for serving)

Cook the Pasta (if using): Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water.

    Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp in a single layer, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

      Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute). Be careful not to burn the garlic.

        Combine Cream and Cheese: Slowly stir in the heavy cream, mixing well. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly (about 3-5 minutes). Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach desired consistency.
