Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 teaspoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

½ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries or fruit preserves (for topping, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Crescent Base: Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough and lay it evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Press the seams together to create a solid layer.

Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar, continuing to mix until fully incorporated. Mix in the vanilla extract, egg, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using) until the mixture is completely blended and fluffy.

Spread the Filling: Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll layer in the baking dish.

Top with Second Crescent Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese layer, again pressing together the seams to form a complete cover.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set. The edges should be slightly puffed up.

Cool and Chill: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the bars cool in the baking dish for at least 15 minutes at room temperature. Then, transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and make cutting easier.

Serve: Once chilled, dust the top with powdered sugar and cut into bars. For an extra touch, serve with fresh berries or a dollop of fruit preserves on top.

Enjoy: Serve chilled and enjoy the compliment of flaky crescent layers with the creamy cheesecake filling!
