Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

1 lb chicken tenders

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 large egg

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken tenders, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for extra flavor).

    Prepare the Dredging Station: In one shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

      Dredge the Chicken: Remove each chicken tender from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off. First, coat the tender in flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off again. Lastly, dredge it in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with all chicken tenders.

        Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

          Air Fry the Tenders: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket (you may need to work in batches). Spray the tops of the tenders lightly with cooking spray for added crispiness.

            Cooking Time: Air fry the chicken tenders for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

              Serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces!
