Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

Cooking spray

Dipping Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for best results.

      Prepare the Breading Station:

        Set up three shallow bowls:

          - In the first bowl, place the flour.

            - In the second bowl, add the beaten eggs.

              - In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt, pepper, and extra garlic powder if desired.

                Bread the Chicken:

Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess buttermilk drip off. Dredge each piece in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the panko breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they adhere well.

                    Air Fry the Chicken:

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Lightly spray the tops of the tenders with cooking spray.

                        Cook:

Air fry the chicken tenders for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

                            Prepare the Dipping Sauce:

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, honey, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

                                Serve:

Remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
