Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon sea salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)

Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skins on for extra texture and nutrition. Cut each potato into even wedges or sticks, approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

Soak the Potatoes: To achieve extra crispiness, soak the cut fries in cold water for about 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch.

Dry the Potatoes: After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Season the Fries: In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the dried potato wedges and drizzle the olive oil over them. Toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated with oil and seasonings.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded to achieve maximum crispiness.

Bake the Fries: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through cooking for even browning. Keep an eye on them towards the end; they should be golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once done, remove the fries from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives if desired, and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
