1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (like almond or soy)

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Chopped green onions and celery sticks (for garnish, optional)

Prepare the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes or nuggets. You can also slice them into strips, depending on your preference.

    Create Breading Stations: In a shallow bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In a separate bowl, pour the plant-based milk, and in a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

      Bread the Tofu:

        - Dip one tofu piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.

          - Next, shake off the excess flour, then dip it in the plant-based milk.

            - Finally, roll the tofu in the panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated. Repeat this for all tofu pieces.

              Fry the Nuggets: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded tofu nuggets in batches, taking care not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each side for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Adjust the heat as necessary to prevent burning.

                Coat in Buffalo Sauce: Once crispy, transfer the fried tofu nuggets to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the nuggets and toss gently to coat them evenly.
