Ingredients

16 oz mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and stems trimmed

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup panko breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (for an extra flavor boost)

Instructions

Prep the Mushrooms: Start by cleaning the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems if necessary, but leave them whole for a more impressive presentation.

Garlic Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Coat the Mushrooms: Add the mushrooms to the bowl and toss gently, ensuring each mushroom is well-coated with the garlic mixture.

Prepare Panko: In a separate shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs. If you're using Parmesan, mix it into the breadcrumbs at this stage.

Bread the Mushrooms: Take each mushroom and roll it in the panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Place the breaded mushrooms on a plate as you go.

Air Frying: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Once heated, arrange the breaded mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t touch to allow even cooking. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Cooking Time: Air fry the mushrooms for about 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once done, carefully remove the mushrooms and place them on a serving platter. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and, if desired, an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy: Serve these crispy garlic air-fried mushrooms hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish. They pair wonderfully with dipping sauces like garlic mayonnaise or ranch dressing!
