Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Sauce:

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (for thickening)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

Create the Breading Station: Set up three separate shallow dishes — one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the third with panko breadcrumbs.

Bread the Chicken: Dip each piece of chicken first into the flour, shaking off excess, then coat with egg, and finally press into panko breadcrumbs until fully covered. Repeat with all chicken pieces.

Prepare the Honey Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic. Bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until glossy and syrupy. Remove from heat and set aside.

Fry the Chicken: In a large pan or deep fryer, add vegetable oil over medium-high heat (enough to submerge the chicken halfway). When the oil is hot (around 350°F), carefully add the breaded chicken pieces, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F). Drain on paper towels.

Glaze the Chicken: In a large bowl, toss the crispy chicken pieces with the honey sauce until well coated.

Serve: Plate the crispy honey chicken, drizzling any extra sauce on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy your delightful dish!
