Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Lemon wedges (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Breading Station: In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to incorporate all the dry ingredients.

Set Up the Dipping Process: In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs until they are well beaten. Place the all-purpose flour in a third shallow dish.

Coat the Chicken: Start by dredging each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, press the chicken into the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, making sure to cover all surfaces well. Place coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet.

Add the Olive Oil: Drizzle the olive oil over the coated chicken breasts to help them crisp up in the oven.

Bake the Chicken: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and is golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve with lemon wedges for an added zest.
