Ingredients

For the Sweet Potato Fries:

2 large sweet potatoes (about 1.5 pounds)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Ranch Dip:

½ cup sour cream

½ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon buttermilk (or milk for a lighter option)

1 teaspoon dried dill weed

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into uniform fries (around 1/4 inches thick) for even cooking.

Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, ensuring they are well coated. Sprinkle the cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper over the fries, then toss again until evenly coated.

Arrange for Baking: Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer across the prepared baking sheets, making sure they’re not touching to ensure maximum crispiness.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Keep an eye on them to ensure they don't burn but get nice and crispy.

Prepare the Ranch Dip: While the fries are baking, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve: Once the fries are out of the oven and crispy, serve them hot with the ranch dip on the side. Optionally, garnish the ranch with fresh chopped parsley for an added touch.
