Ingredients required on the cake mix box (usually eggs, oil, and water)

For the Whipped Cream Layer:

2 cups heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate shavings or curls, for garnish

For Assembly:

1 cup chocolate syrup

1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Cake:

    - Preheat your oven as directed on the cake mix box. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

      - Prepare the chocolate cake batter according to the package instructions and pour it evenly into the prepared pans.

        - Bake for the allotted time, then check for doneness with a toothpick. Let the cakes cool completely before removing them from the pans.

          Make the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:

            - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and cocoa powder until smooth and creamy.

              - In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

                - Add in the Baileys Irish Cream and vanilla extract, and stir until everything is incorporated. Place this mixture in the refrigerator to set slightly for about 30 minutes.

                  Prepare the Whipped Cream:

                    - In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whipping until you reach stiff peaks. Set aside.

                      Assemble the Trifle:

                        - Cut the cooled chocolate cakes into small cubes.

                          - In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer the trifle starting with a layer of chocolate cake cubes at the bottom.

                            - Drizzle a thin layer of chocolate syrup over the cake, followed by a generous scoop of the chocolate cheesecake mixture.

                              - Next, add a layer of whipped cream on top.

                                - Repeat the layers until you reach the top of your trifle dish, finishing with a layer of whipped cream.

                                  Garnish and Serve:

                                    - Drizzle extra Baileys Irish Cream, if desired, and top with chocolate shavings or curls for an elegant finish.

                                      - Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld together.
