Ingredients

1 pound frozen meatballs (beef, turkey, or plant-based)

2 cups uncooked penne pasta

3 cups marinara sauce

2 cups water

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large baking dish, combine the uncooked penne pasta and frozen meatballs.

Pour the marinara sauce over the pasta and meatballs, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Add the water, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine all ingredients, ensuring the pasta is submerged under the sauce as much as possible.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and stir the mixture. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once ready, take it out of the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Serve hot, and enjoy your delicious, easy-to-make meatball casserole!
