Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup tahini

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt to taste

2-3 tablespoons water (as needed for consistency)

Optional: paprika and fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, and a pinch of salt.

Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice as preferred.

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika and chopped parsley if desired.

Serve immediately with fresh veggies, pita bread, or use it as a spread for sandwiches.
