Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken: Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps the skin crisp up nicely.

Mix the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until you have a smooth paste.

Coat the Drumsticks: Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss them well in the spice mixture until they're fully coated.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Air Frying: Place the coated chicken drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may have to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Cooking Time: Cook the drumsticks for 20 minutes. Halfway through, about at the 10-minute mark, pause the air fryer and use tongs to turn the drumsticks over for even cooking.

BBQ Sauce Glaze: After 20 minutes of cooking, brush the BBQ sauce generously over each drumstick. Return the drumsticks to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.

Check for Doneness: Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). If necessary, return to the air fryer for an additional couple of minutes.

Serve & Garnish: Carefully remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Enjoy: Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side, and enjoy your succulent, crispy BBQ chicken drumsticks!
