Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

8 ounces linguine or spaghetti (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta (if using): If you’re serving the shrimp over pasta, begin by boiling a pot of salted water. Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Make it Creamy: Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for about 2 minutes. Then, add the heavy cream and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and let it simmer gently until slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and stir to coat them in the creamy sauce. If using pasta, add it here along with a splash of the reserved pasta water to help combine everything and to achieve the desired consistency.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.
