Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or pasta (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Prepare the broccoli florets and set aside.

Steam the Broccoli: In a pot, bring about 1 inch of water to a boil. Place the broccoli in a steamer basket and steam for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Shrimp: Increase heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until pink, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until fully cooked.

Combine Ingredients: Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour in the lemon juice and lemon zest. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and stir until everything is well-coated and heated through.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately over cooked rice or pasta.
