1 lb ground beef

4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

1 medium onion, diced

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add in the diced onion and cook until the onion is soft and translucent. Drain any excess grease and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Prepare the Casserole Dish: In a large bowl, mix together the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, and milk until well combined.

Layer Ingredients: In a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, place half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Spread half of the ground beef mixture over the potatoes and then half of the soup mixture. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top.

Repeat Layers: Layer the remaining potato slices, followed by the remaining ground beef, and then the rest of the soup mixture. Top with the remaining cheese.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.
