Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and well-blended.

Add in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped pecans and half of the chocolate chips (reserve the other half for topping).

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the batter, using a knife or toothpick to gently swirl it in without fully mixing it.

Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips evenly over the caramel layer.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares or rectangles. Once cooled completely, consider refrigerating them for an hour for easier slicing.
