Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken:

    - Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a crispier skin.

      Marinate the Chicken:

        - In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to form a spice rub.

          - Add the drumsticks to the bowl, ensuring they are evenly coated with the spice mix. For best results, let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge).

            Preheat the Air Fryer:

              - Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes. This helps to kickstart the cooking process and achieve a nice crispy skin.

                Cooking the Drumsticks:

                  - Place the marinated drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding to allow proper air circulation.

                    - Air fry the drumsticks for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The chicken should be golden brown and cooked through.

                      Add the BBQ Sauce:

                        - Brush a generous layer of BBQ sauce over the drumsticks during the last 5 minutes of cooking. This will caramelize the sauce and add a delicious glaze.

                          Check for Doneness:

                            - Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the drumsticks reaches at least 165°F (74°C). If they need more time, continue air frying in 2-minute increments.

                              Serve:

                                - Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
