Ingredients

1 loaf of Italian or French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, fresh parsley, red pepper flakes, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Slice the Bread: Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Place the two halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.

Spread the Mixture: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread. Make sure to cover the entire surface for maximum flavor.

Add the Mozzarella: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic buttered sides of the bread.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Broil (Optional): For an extra crispy top, switch to broil for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Cut into slices and serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
