Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin on or off as preferred)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper. This helps to enhance the flavors and achieves a nice sear.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and just starting to turn golden (be careful not to burn it).

Add Lemon and Herbs: Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, and thyme into the garlic butter mixture. Allow it to simmer for another minute, then remove it from heat.

Cook the Salmon: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down if retained. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side until the edges are starting to turn opaque. Carefully flip the salmon.

Baste with Garlic Butter: Reducing the heat to medium, spoon the prepared garlic butter over the salmon fillets. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting constantly with the garlic butter. Cook until the salmon is flaky and a bright pink color inside.

Serve: Once done, remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer it to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter from the pan over the top for added flavor. Garnish with more fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
