Ingredients

4 cups ripe watermelon, deseeded and cubed

1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness of watermelon)

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped (optional)

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon: Start by cutting the watermelon into cubes and removing any seeds. You’ll need about 4 cups of cubed watermelon.

Blend the Mixture: Place the watermelon cubes in a high-powered blender or food processor. Add the granulated sugar, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. If you're using mint, add it now. Blend the mixture until it is completely smooth.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the watermelon puree and adjust the sweetness, adding more sugar if desired. Blend again to incorporate any additional sugar.

Chill: Pour the watermelon mixture into a shallow dish or a freezer-safe container. Cover it with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer. Let it chill for about 2 hours, or until it is partially frozen.

Stir and Freeze Fully: After 2 hours, remove the mixture from the freezer. Using a fork, scrape the mixture to break up any ice crystals. This will give your sorbet a light and fluffy texture. Return it to the freezer for another 2-3 hours or until fully frozen.

Serve: When ready to serve, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes for easier scooping. Use an ice cream scoop to dish out the sorbet into bowls or cups, and garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and flavor.

Enjoy!: Delight in your homemade watermelon sorbet on a hot day or as a refreshing dessert anytime!
