Ingredients

2 fresh tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice (for serving)

Steamed broccoli (for serving)

Instructions

Marinade Preparation: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.

Marinate Tuna: Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the tuna, ensuring they are well coated. Allow them to marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Cooking the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the marinade to a simmer. Whisk in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes until it reaches your desired consistency. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Tuna: Preheat a grill or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates or pan. Remove the tuna from the marinade and season with salt and pepper. Cook the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to achieve your preferred doneness.

Glaze the Tuna: During the last minute of cooking, brush the thickened teriyaki sauce over the tuna steaks to create a nice glaze.

Plating: Once cooked, transfer the tuna to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the top. Garnish with sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions.

Serve: Serve the honey glazed teriyaki tuna over cooked jasmine rice with a side of steamed broccoli for a complete meal.
