Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1/4 cup honey

Juice of 2 lemons

Zest of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon freshly cracked black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Wings: Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pat your chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they crisp up nicely.

Make the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine the honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

Marinate the Wings: Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature (or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator for more intense flavor).

Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup, and place a wire rack on top. This allows air to circulate around the wings, helping them to become crispy.

Arrange the Wings: Remove the wings from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and place them on the wire rack in a single layer. Drizzle the olive oil over the wings for added crispiness.

Bake the Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through.

Glaze the Wings: While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Coat the Wings: Once the wings are crispy, remove them from the oven. Brush or toss the wings with the cooked marinade to give them a glossy finish and intense flavor.

Serve: Transfer the wings to a serving platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
