Ingredients

1 jar of dill pickle spears (16 oz), drained and patted dry

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Ranch dressing (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: Cut each pickle spear into spirals using a spiralizer. If you don't have one, you can thinly slice the spears into rounds and then spiral those.

Set up Breading Station: In three separate bowls, set out the flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in the first bowl. Beat the eggs and buttermilk together in the second bowl. Finally, place the breadcrumbs in the third bowl.

Coat the Pickles: Take a pickle spiral, dip it into the flour mixture, ensuring it's coated, then into the egg and buttermilk mixture. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumbs to coat completely. Repeat for all pickle spirals.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Pickles: Carefully add the breaded pickle spirals in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan; this will prevent them from cooking properly.

Drain and Serve: Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve immediately while hot, with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
