Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti or linguine

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)

1 lemon, zested and juiced

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine, and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 9-11 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.

Prepare the Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning them with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

Add Wine and Lemon: Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.

Combine with Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic butter sauce. If the pasta seems too dry, gradually add the reserved pasta water until you achieve the desired creaminess.

Finish and Serve: Stir in the lemon zest and chopped parsley. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
