1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp Chinese five-spice powder

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ginger, grated

1 tbsp sesame oil

1-2 tsp red food coloring (optional, for color)

Green onions, for garnish

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, Chinese five-spice powder, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red food coloring if using. Stir until well combined. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.

    Preheat the Grill/Oven: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using the oven, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

      Grill the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and a nice char develops, brushing with additional marinade halfway through cooking.
