Ingredients

1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia), cut into 1-inch strips

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

For the Tartar Sauce:

½ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon dill pickle relish

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh dill (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by cutting the fish fillets into 1-inch wide strips. Set up three shallow bowls for a breading station: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

    Bread the Fish Sticks:

      - Dredge each fish strip in the flour, shaking off the excess.

        - Dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.

          - Finally, coat the strip in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs to the fish. Repeat for all fish strips.

Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

              Air Fry the Fish Sticks:

                - Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.

                  - Arrange the breaded fish sticks in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook them in batches.

                    - Lightly spray the tops of the fish sticks with cooking spray to help them crisp up.

                      - Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 145°F).

Make the Tartar Sauce: While the fish sticks are cooking, in a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste and garnish with fresh dill if desired.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the crispy fish sticks hot with the tartar sauce for dipping. Pair with your favorite sides like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
