Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

6 strips of bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to coat.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate, leaving the drippings in the skillet.

Add Maple Syrup: Remove the skillet from heat and add the maple syrup to the bacon drippings. Stir to combine.

Combine Ingredients: Pour the Brussels sprouts into a greased baking dish. Drizzle the maple bacon drippings evenly over them, then sprinkle the crispy bacon on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized.

Add Cheese: If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of baking. Let it melt and become slightly golden.

Garnish: Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm as a delightful side dish or a unique appetizer for your gathering.
