Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup smooth peanut butter

1/4 cup sour cream

For the Topping:

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/4 cup peanut butter

Chopped peanuts (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Brownie Layer:

      - In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

        - Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.

          - Pour the brownie batter into the prepared springform pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

            Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:

              - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.

                - Add the granulated and brown sugars, mixing until combined. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just blended.

                  - Mix in the vanilla extract, peanut butter, and sour cream until smooth. Ensure there are no lumps.

                    Assemble the Cheesecake:

                      - Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie layer in the springform pan, smoothing it into an even layer.

                        - Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven, crack the oven door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for about 1 hour to prevent cracking.

                          Make the Topping:

                            - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted.

                              Combine and Chill:

                                - Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the cooled cheesecake, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts if desired.

                                  - Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

                                    Serve:

                                      - Release the cheesecake from the springform pan and slice into wedges. Serve chilled and enjoy your decadent treat!
