Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup marinara sauce

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup diced pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)

½ cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)

½ cup sliced mushrooms

¼ cup black olives, sliced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Muffin Tin: Grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.

Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut the dough into circles large enough to cover the bottom and sides of each muffin tin cup.

Line the Muffin Tin: Gently press the dough circles into each cup of the muffin tin, ensuring it covers the sides completely. Leave a little excess hanging over the edge.

Fill with Ingredients: Spoon a tablespoon of marinara sauce into each dough-lined cup. Layer on a mix of mozzarella cheese, pepperoni (or sausage), bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives. Sprinkle each cup with a pinch of Italian seasoning. Top with additional mozzarella cheese.

Cover with Dough: Roll out any remaining dough and cut into smaller circles or strips. Place a small piece over the top of each filled muffin cup. Crimp the edges to seal and cut a small slit in the top for steam to escape.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pot pies with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Let the pizza pot pies cool for a few minutes before gently removing them from the muffin tin using a butter knife. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy your delicious, individual-sized pizza pot pies!
