Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 cups shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and black pepper. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with any leftover garlic. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring continuously until melted and smooth. Add the lemon juice and season with more salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp into the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated with the sauce. If you prefer a spicier dish, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes.

Serve: Divide the Shrimp Alfredo pasta among plates or bowls. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy your quick and delicious meal!
