1 pound (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 red bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 cup beef broth or water

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for 10 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

    Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, wash and chop the broccoli florets and slice the red bell pepper. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

      Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned but not fully cooked, then remove it from the pan and set aside.

        Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the broccoli florets and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

          Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the pan. Add the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth (or water). Stir everything together and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the beef is cooked through and everything is nicely coated.
