Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup rose syrup

1/4 cup crushed rose petals (edible)

1 cup whipped cream (for frosting)

Additional rose syrup (for drizzling)

Edible rose petals (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

Add Eggs and Flavors: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract, rose syrup, and mix until combined.

Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mix to the wet mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Start and finish with dry (flour mixture). Stir until just combined.

Fold in Rose Petals: Carefully fold in the crushed rose petals, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.

Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cake: Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frost the Cake: Once the cake has completely cooled, spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the cake. Optionally, you may cut the cake into layers and frost each layer with whipped cream.

Decorate: Drizzle additional rose syrup over the top and garnish with edible rose petals for a lovely presentation.

Serve & Enjoy: Slice the cake and serve chilled, allowing the floral notes to tantalize your taste buds.
