1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Smoky BBQ Sauce:

1/2 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon liquid smoke (or to taste)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For Assembly:

4 slider buns

Lettuce leaves or arugula

Sliced tomatoes

Pickles (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon Patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped salmon, breadcrumbs, red onion, parsley, egg, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for about 20 minutes to firm them up.

Make the Smoky BBQ Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, liquid smoke, apple cider vinegar, honey, and garlic powder until well combined. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.

Cook the Patties: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat. Add a little oil to the skillet if using. Cook the salmon patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the slider buns on a separate skillet or under the broiler until golden brown.

Assemble the Sliders: Spread a generous amount of the smoky BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each toasted slider bun. Add a salmon patty, top with lettuce or arugula, sliced tomatoes, and pickles if desired. Drizzle a little more BBQ sauce on top before placing the bun lid.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the smoky BBQ salmon sliders fresh with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
