Ingredients

For the Biscuits:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

3/4 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar added, let sit for 5 mins)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Sticky Honey Butter:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.

Incorporate Butter: Add the chilled, cubed butter into the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. You should see some pea-sized pieces of butter for flaky biscuits.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk and vanilla extract together. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps!

Shape the Biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle, about 1-inch thick. Fold the dough over itself a couple of times (this helps create layers), then cut out biscuits using a floured round cutter or a glass.

Bake the Biscuits: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

Make the Sticky Honey Butter: While the biscuits are baking, prepare the sticky honey butter. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, honey, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Glaze the Biscuits: Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush them generously with the sticky honey butter while they’re still warm, allowing it to soak in.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the biscuits warm with any remaining honey butter on the side for an extra drizzle. These are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven!
