Ingredients

For the Steak:

2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped

Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Creamy Pasta:

8 ounces fettuccine or tagliatelle

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 shallot, finely chopped

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Steak:

    - Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

      - Season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

        - In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Rub this mixture all over the steaks.

          Cook the Pasta:

            - While the steaks are resting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

              Cook the Steaks:

                - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust to your preferred doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate. Cover loosely with foil.

                  Create the Cream Sauce:

                    - In the same skillet used for the steaks, lower the heat to medium and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chopped shallot and sauté for about 2 minutes until translucent.

                      - Add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon zest, mixing until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Add some reserved pasta water to achieve your desired sauce consistency. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

                        Combine Pasta and Sauce:

                          - Add the cooked pasta directly into the creamy sauce and toss until fully coated. Let it cook together for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the pasta to absorb some flavors.

                            Serve:

                              - Slice the rested steaks against the grain into thick strips. Serve each portion of creamy pasta on a plate, topped with the succulent steak slices. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color.

                                Enjoy:

                                  - Serve immediately with a side of garlic bread and a glass of red wine for an indulgent dining experience.
